Ticketmaster plans major redesign of its website

In a move it says will "provide an enhanced live event search and purchasing experience," Ticketmaster is planning an overhaul of its website sometime in the next several weeks.

Ticketmaster, the world's largest ticket company according to TicketNews's exclusive industry rankings, recently launched a sneak peek website that outlines many of the changes, which include a more streamlined navigation bar; a calendar view of upcoming shows in a customer's area; and select tabs that display current and upcoming events on sale. Since acquiring TicketsNow earlier this year, Ticketmaster has slowly sought to remake its image among brokers and the public, and TicketsNow has also contemplated changes to its website, including instituting a corporate blog where executives and customers can interact. When TicketsNow will launch the blog is unknown.

"Taking our customers' valuable feedback into consideration, we've redesigned the site in order to provide an enhanced live event search and purchasing experience," Ticketmaster wrote on the sneak peek page as to why it plans to make the changes. The company's current website has a slightly clunky interface with smaller text and less color.

When the company last conducted a major site redesign is unknown, and a Ticketmaster spokesperson did not immediately return messages seeking comment. Other changes to the website include easier ways for customers to update their location and favorite artists, teams and/or venues; a more prominent search box at the top of the page; and improved navigation options along the left column.
