Broadway Theatre Ticket Grosses Report
Week of Dec. 25—31st, 2006
Broadway ended the year hitting high notes! The most recent grosses overall were $29,137,802. Every show posted increases in this last week.
Top-ranked Wicked was still knocking them dead in Oz, at 100% capacity to the tune of $1,800,310—and the highest ticket price, $300.00. Interestingly, it was not one of the New York Times Critic’s Picks.
Other productions in its luminous trail were Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas with a gross of $1,708,885 at only 91.21% of capacity but with 12 performances, Mamma Mia! with a gross of $1,478,292 playing to a full house, and The Lion King at $1,466,909 also playing to a full house.
Also achieving the million dollar milestone were: The Drowsy Chaperone at $1,381,180; Mary Poppins, at $1,312,449; Beauty and the Beast, at $1,302,074; Spamalot, at $1,285,626; Jersey Boys, at $1,216,173, The Phantom of the Opera, at $1,210,850; The Color Purple, at $1,147,115; and The Producers at $1,102,722.
