The Cribs Cancel U.S. Shows

By Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner

UK punk trio The Cribs have been forced to postpone their upcoming American tour to early 2008 because of scheduling conflicts due to a flurry of activity, such as an upcoming supporting role for the Sex Pistols and following the success of their new UK single at home. The tour was scheduled to begin this month on the East Coast and end in Los Angeles in early December.

A more extensive American and Canadian tour is planned for next year. Tickets previously purchased for dates will be honored for the new dates to be announced in the near future. Refunds will be provided at point of purchase for tickets for any shows that cannot be rescheduled.

The band has released a new double A side single in the UK this week for “Our Bovine Public” (from the album “Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever”) backed with “Don’t You Wanna Be Relevant?” The band’s supporting gig for the reunited Sex Pistols are for the sold out shows on Nov. 8, 10, 12 and 14 at London’s Brixton Academy.
