NFL, Janet Jackson tickets on sale
Tickets to the upcoming NFL season and tickets to several stops on Janet Jackson’s summer tour are on sale throughout the week ending June 21 as compiled by TicketNews.
This week offers tickets to several sporting events across the country. On Monday morning, tickets to Games 6 and 7 of the NBA Finals in Boston go on sale. For football fans, Thursday morning offers a chance to buy tickets to the Philadelphia Eagles 2008 season, while Saturday sees tickets for the Pittsburgh Steeler’s 2008 season on sale. Saturday also offers two World Wrestling Entertainment events at Madison Square Garden in New York City and the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois.
Several musicians have concerts and tours on sale this week as well. Janet Jackson has additional tour dates for her summer tour in the onsales for Monday, with stops in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Houston. Also on sale Monday is tickets for Sir Elton John, who has a concert in Winnipeg, Manitoba. British rockers Coldplay have an additional tour stop in Atlanta on sale Saturday, additionally The Black Crowes also have multiple dates on sale that day as well. The week also offers concerts from music heavyweights including Marc Anthony, Jack Johnson, and Neil Diamond.
For fans of theater, the week has several opportunities to see hit Broadway musicals. The 2008 winner of the Tony for Best Musical, In the Heights, has additional show dates on sale beginning Monday morning. Residents of Minneapolis will have a chance to see the mega-hit musical Wicked, as tickets for the national tour go on sale Thursday. Finally, the Oprah produced musical tour of The Color Purple has tickets on sale for the show’s stops in Louisville and Milwaukee this week.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
