Kid Rock tour extended into September
The January launch of Kid Rock’s revue-style Rock and Roll Revival Tour with his Twisted Brown Trucker Band will be extended with special guests including former Allman Brothers Band guitarist Dickey Betts, J. Giles Band’s Peter Wolf and Run D.M.C’s Reverend Run.
Having recently returned from his first European tour since 2001, Rock brings his Rock and Roll Revival show to seven Canadian cities, July 5-16, then plays a handful of dates, including a just-added, unprecedented fourth night in his Detroit backyard at DTE Energy Music Theatre; he last performed three shows there in 2004. Rock then heads out with Lynyrd Skynyrd on his previously announced nine-city Rock and Rebels Tour. From there, he heads West, with dates currently issued through September 13.
Rock has been supporting his platinum-selling “Rock N Roll Jesus” that was released in October and has spawned hits “So Hott,” “Amen” and “All Summer Long.” This week the album moved up four notches to #12 with Greatest Gainer nods on the Billboard 200.
The Detroit rapper made news recently when he encouraged fans, via YouTube, to steal everything including iPods, laptops, Toyotas and gasoline. He later made a retraction saying he was only kidding. The tirade came after he announced his boycott of Apple’s iTunes store because artists do not get paid enough for downloads.
