Rise Against announces 29-date tour with Alkaline Trio, Thrice
In tandem with the release of their fifth studio album, “Appeal To Reason” on October 7, punk rock crew Rise Against is heading out on a 29-date, 28-city headlining tour. Supporting acts for the tour are Alkaline Trio, Thrice and The Gaslight Anthem.
The Live Nation-produced tour kicks off on October 2 in Cleveland, OH at the Time Warner Cable Amphitheater and concludes on November 23 in Detroit, MI at The Fillmore. The bands are performing a double-header in Denver, CO, November 12-13. All other nights on the tour are single-night engagements.
After forming in 1999, Rise Against ventured into the music scene in 2000 with their independent demo/EP “Transistor Revolt.” Since then, the band has tallied five full releases with corresponding tours. Rise Against’s 2006 release “The Sufferer & The Witness,” the band’s most recent release prior to “Appeal To Reason,” reached No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and went Platinum in Canada.
Over the years, Rise Against has featured a rotating line-up, with the only consistent members being lead vocalist Tim McIlrath and bassist/vocalist Joe Principe. Zach Blair (guitar and vocals) and Brandon Barnes (drums) complete the lineup for the band’s current incarnation.
Before heading out in the fall, Rise Against will log some stage time on the Vans Warped Tour from August 6-17.
The three supporting acts will promote their own new releases during the fall tour with Rise Against. Thrice released “The Alchemy Index, Vols. III & IV” on April 15 of this year, and Alkaline Trio’s sixth album “Agony & Irony” dropped on July 1. Meanwhile, punk rock newcomers The Gaslight Anthem anticipate the release of their second full-length album “The ’59 Sound” on August 19.
Tickets for Rise Against’s fall tour go on sale nationally beginning August 8.
