Beck concert will open AEG Live’s new Club Nokia in Los Angeles

Alternative rock maven Beck has been tapped to open the new Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles on November 10. The 2,300-capacity club is part of the $2.5 billion LA Live sports and entertainment project developed by AEG Live, which is also booking the club along with concert promoter Goldenvoice.

Tickets for Beck’s concert go on sale September 27. The concert is a return performance for the rocker, who recently played a September 20 capacity show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA. Beck’s current tour, which kicked off August 21, is slated to wrap with an October 2-3 run at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL, with supporting act MGMT.

Located at the corner of Olympic and Figueroa, the new club features an intimate artistic atmosphere, a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, variable seating configurations including theatre-style seating in the balcony, a VIP lounge, outdoor patios on all three levels and catering by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.

“This vibrant $2.5 billion, 4 million-square-foot development will establish once and for all that Los Angeles is the entertainment and content capital of the world,” said Tim Leiweke, AEG president and CEO, in a statement.

Both Club Nokia and the 7,100-seat Nokia Theatre, which AEG Live opened last October with six sellouts by the Eagles and Dixie Chicks, are part of the development’s first phase. Since opening on October 18, 2007, Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live has become the go-to venue for industry events, including the American Music Awards, the primetime Emmys and ESPN’s ESPY Awards.
