CMA Awards, MLB playoff tickets on sale this week
Tickets for the upcoming CMA Awards as well as tickets for the upcoming 2008 Major League Baseball Playoffs are on sale throughout the week ending September 20 as compiled by TicketNews.
On Friday morning, country fans have a chance to buy tickets to one of country music’s biggest award shows. The CMA Awards, which will include performances by several of country music’s most popular acts, will take place in Nashville on November 12. Also available for country fans on Friday are tickets to the joint concert tour of Alan Jackson and Trace Adkins’s stop in Ontario, Canada. Fans of rap superstar Jay-Z can get tickets to his upcoming concert in Houston beginning Saturday morning, while tickets to catch rockers AC/DC in Ohio are also available that morning.
This week also presents several chances to get tickets to see several of today’s hottest comedians live. Blue Collar Comedy Tour staples Larry the Cable Guy and Ron White each have stand-up performances in the onsales for Friday, as does comic legend Jerry Seinfeld. Chelsea Handler, bestselling author and host of E!’s “Chelsea Lately,” has two stand-up shows, in California in the onsales for Saturday. Rounding out the week’s comedy offerings is political comedian Lewis Black, who has a show in Virginia in the onsales for Saturday as well.
Finally, this week there are several chances to snag tickets to upcoming sporting events. Friday morning has tickets available to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim first round home playoff games, while Saturday has tickets for the Los Angeles Dodgers early home playoff appearances. Saturday’s onsales also boast multiple chances to get tickets to the upcoming 2008 NHL season. Single game tickets are available for the Anaheim Ducks, New Jersey Devils, Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, Ottawa Senators, Vancouver Canucks, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, Atlanta Thrashers, Philadelphia Flyers, and Los Angeles Kings.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
