Willie Nelson tour takes the reins again with early 2009 performances
American icon Willie Nelson is gearing up for his last U.S. tour dates of 2008, but the singer-songwriter has already unveiled plans for his 2009 trek’s kick-off. Nelson begins the final tour leg on November 21 at ASU Convocation Center in Jonesboro, AR, and wraps for the year on December 7 at The Centre in Evansville, IN.
The country crooner will be on the road again early in the New Year with a January 9-10 set at Peppermill Casino in West Wendover, NV. Currently, the musician-actor has more than a dozen shows booked for 2009 through February 19 at Holmes Convocation Center in Boone, NC, including a January 16-20 run at The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA.
Public on-sales for the San Francisco shows began yesterday (November 16), and sales for several other January concerts start later in the week. Venue-specific information on sale dates and ticket prices can be found on Nelson’s official Web site.
Over the course of his career, Nelson has released dozens of solo, compilation and collaborative albums. Most recently, the legendary singer completed his solo “Moment of Forever” in January 2008, followed by the July release of a live duet album with Wynton Marsalis called “Two Men with the Blues,” which peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 and topped the jazz album charts.
