Last chance for Houston Rodeo, SXSW Music Festival tickets

Ticket sales for a number of special concert events, festivals and tours will close during the week ending March 23, as compiled by TicketNews.

The three-week Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is winding down this week, along with ticket sales for its final concert events at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX. Country star Keith Urban will take the stage tonight (March 17), followed by five more performers through the weekend. The rest of the lineup features Gary Allen on March 18, newcomer Pat Green on March 19, rising star Taylor Swift on March 20, and legends Brooks & Dunn on March 21. Southern rock kings ZZ Top close out the Houston Rodeo with a performance on March 22.

This week also signals the end of the 10-day interactive, film and music festival known as South By Southwest (SXSW). The media festival, which launched March 13, features more than 1,800 musical acts on about 80 different stages across the host city of Austin, TX. While concerts and conferences are still going on, SXSW is set to close on March 22 with final all-ages performances at Emo’s.

For those with the luck of the Irish on their side, there might be a chance to grab last minute tickets to several St. Patrick’s Day concert celebrations tonight (March 17). Celtic-influenced rock crew Dropkick Murphys will celebrate the day, and the end of its winter tour, at the new House of Blues venue in its hometown of Boston, MA. Meanwhile, Irish-blooded band Flogging Molly will wrap its tour with its own St. Patty’s Day shenanigans at Congress Theatre in Chicago, IL.

Ticket sales are also closing out this week on a number of other events. Rapper T.I. is performing his last concerts for a while this week, as he will beginning serving a year-long jail sentence for weapons charges later this month. His last show is booked for March 20 at ASU Acadome in Montgomery, AL. Meanwhile, up-and-coming musicians Missy Higgins and Justin Nozuka will end their co-head run with some final gigs over the weekend. Their jaunt ends March 23 at The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA.
