Last chance for Coachella Festival, NBA regular season tickets
Ticketing closes for several large events, such as Coachella and the NBA regular season, throughout the week ending April 20, as compiled by TicketNews.
The 2009 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival launches this week at Empire Polo Field in Indio, CA. Tickets are offered in the form of single-day passes for April 17, 18 and 19, as well as three-day passes that are valid for the whole weekend. Headliners for the event are Paul McCartney, The Killers and The Cure, with artists such as Morrissey, Franz Ferdinand, Leonard Cohen and My Bloody Valentine also scheduled to perform.
The NBA regular season winds down this week as teams play their final home games before the first round of Eastern and Western conference playoffs begin over the weekend. The Los Angeles Lakers close out their regular season against the Utah Jazz tonight, April 14, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Numerous teams have the homecourt advantage tomorrow, April 15, including the Boston Celtics vs. the Washington Wizards at TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, MA, and the New York Knicks vs. the New Jersey Nets at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.
Two iconic English performers are both ending their time in the U.S. this week with appearances at Coachella and some solo concerts. Former Beatle Paul McCartney headlines the music festival on April 17 before closing his stay in the States with an April 19 performance at The Joint in Las Vegas, NV. The North American adventure also ends for former Smiths frontman Morrissey. After his own April 17 set at Coachella, Morrissey’s national tour ends April 18 at Paramount Theatre in Oakland, CA.
“Last Chance” information is compiled at the beginning of the week, based on touring acts whose current itineraries are closing over the course of that week. The availability of tickets for Last Chance events depends on primary and secondary seller inventory, and may vary as tickets are sold in the days leading up to each event.
