Melissa Etheridge tour goes ‘Live and Alone’ for summer 2009

Veteran rock musician Melissa Etheridge will hit the road this summer for at least two rounds of her Live and Alone 2009 tour. The concert series, which will continue through the year, features Etheridge on stages across the country for intimate solo performances.

The first round of the tour is a seven-date run across the U.S. and Canada, from June 13 at the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar, CA, through June 27 at Harrah’s Event Center in Robinsonville, MS. The brief trek features a two-night stand on June 19-20 at the Avalon Ballroom Theatre in Niagara Falls, ON.

The second leg of the tour lasts for the entire month of August, with 11 shows schedule in all. Etheridge picks up with an August 9 show at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA, and ends with an August 31 performance at Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, NH.

Ticket pre-sales for the tour are exclusive to members of the Melissa Etheridge Information Network (M.E.I.N.) fan club. Information about regular on-sale dates and times are updated regularly on Etheridge’s official Web site.

Etheridge debuted in 1988 with her self-titled record, an effort that peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard 200. One of her biggest hits, “Come to My Window,” arrived several years later on the 1993 release “Yes I Am.” In all, Etheridge has recorded ten studio albums, including her most recent effort, the seasonal “A New Thought for Christmas,” in September 2008.
