Last chance for No Doubt, Phish tickets

Major summer reunion tours from the likes of Phish and No Doubt will close during the week ending August 17, as compiled by TicketNews.

Late summer touring plans are winding down for jam titan Phish. The recently reunited and ever-popular group sold out show after show on its 2009 itinerary, but fans can still find tickets on the secondary market for the band’s upcoming shows. In all, five dates remain on Phish’s summer calendar, which leaves off August 16 at Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY. The band’s next concert is coming up tonight, August 11, at Toyota Park in Chicago, IL.

Pop-rock band No Doubt has just two more shows left on the itinerary for its summer 2009 reunion tour. Fronted by Gwen Stefani, the group hits the stage at Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, HI, for back-to-back shows on August 11-12. Throughout its summer tour, No Doubt offered seats in prime locations through an in-house ticketing operation intended to make the events “scalper-proof”.

The final dates are approaching for Bob Dylan‘s summer tour with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp. The trio’s last concert together is slated for August 15 at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton, CA, but Dylan and Nelson will continue without Mellencamp for one final gig on August 16 at Harvey’s Outdoor Amphitheatre in Stateline, NV. After completing this round of summer shows, Dylan will take a brief break before launching his next round of U.S. performances in October.

3 Doors Down ends its summer tour with a couple performances this week, leading up to the August 15 closer at the Summer Stage at Tag’s in Big Flats, NY. Reel Big Fish is also looking at just a few more dates on its regular concert schedule, which ends August 14 at the House of Blues in Chicago, IL. Meanwhile, Third Eye Blind has one more event booked for August 17 at Fox Theater in Oakland, CA.

For fans whose tastes are a bit further from the mainstream, eccentric performer Tori Amos ends her tour of North America just after the weekend with a final gig on August 17 at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, MA. Singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright will be off the road for a couple weeks after completing his August 15 concert at Belly Up in Aspen, CO. Art-rock troupe Animal Collective concludes its summer season with a trio of shows at the Prospect Park Bandshell in Brooklyn, NY, on August 14-15.

This year’s Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, co-headlined by Slayer and Marilyn Mason, is wrapping up its summer 2009 jaunt over the weekend. The traveling festival has five more stops coming up on its calendar, from August 11 at Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa, FL, through August 16 at Oklahoma City Zoo Amphitheatre in Oklahoma City, OK.

Finally, golf fanatics should have the PGA Championship on their calendars for this week. The 91st annual U.S. event is booked for Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, MN, with the first round beginning on Thursday, August 13, and the final round set for Sunday, August 16.
