Five for Fighting tour ‘slices’ through fall with new concert dates
Performing under the stage name Five for Fighting, singer-songwriter Ondrasik has dominated the airwaves with hits such as “Superman (It’s Not Easy)” and “100 Years.” Now the solo artist is heading out on the road to promote his latest album with a fall tour of the U.S. and Canada.
The Acoustic Evening with Five for Fighting Tour kicks off on October 18 at El Mocambo in Toronto, ON, and wraps up with a November 11 gig at Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles, CA. Fourteen performances have been booked for the trek, which hits markets from coast to coast over the period of a month.
Other dates on the itinerary are October 20 at City Winery in New York, NY; October 26 at Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA; October 30 at Lakeshore Theater in Chicago, IL; and November 10 at Swedish American Hall in San Francisco, CA. The opening night is currently the only Canadian date on the itinerary.
According to Ondrasik’s official Twitter account, he will be accompanied on the tour by session guitarist Greg Suran, who has recorded with artists such as Avril Lavigne, the Goo Goo Dolls and Ryan Cabrera.
Tickets for the fall tour are being sold directly through the host venues, for the most part. Additional ticketing information can be found on Five for Fighting’s official Web site.
Ondrasik is touring behind his fifth album under the Five for Fighting moniker, “Slice,” which is scheduled for release on October 13. Five for Fighting’s previous album, “Two Lights,” debuted in June 2006 and earned Ondrasik his highest ever position on the Billboard 200 with a No. 8 peak.
