So You Think You Can Dance Canada tour announces late 2009 run
Following in the footsteps of the popular American So You Think You Can Dance television competition and seasonal tour, the production’s Canandian off-shoot has announced its own 2009 calendar. The Canadian production, SYTYCD Canada, will hit the road late in the year for a four-week, 18-city venture.
The recently announced schedule launches November 25 at Prospera Place in Kelowna, BC, and continues through December 22 at Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, NS. Stops along the way include December 1 at Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon, SK; December 12 at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, ON; and December 19 at Colisee Pepsi in Quebec City, QC.
Tickets for the late-year Canadian dates will be available to the public starting October 3, with select presales leading up to the weekend onsale. Ticket prices vary depending on the market, and full details are available via the tour promoter AEG Live, which also co-produces the U.S. tour.
Like its American counterpart, the seasonal SYTYCD Canada tour features the top 10 competitors from the current season of the popular reality TV competition. The Canadian show and live production features a different cast of competitors and judges, but has proven to be just as popular on the road as its American counterpart.
The SYTYCD Canada will follow hot on the heels of the American tour, which launched September 20 at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH.
The U.S. production will stay on the road through November 21 at Comcast Arena in Everett, WA, and is slated to hit a total of 40 markets. The U.S. cast will make its one and only stop in Canada tonight, September 29, at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON.
