Holiday concert, MLB playoff tickets on sale this weekend

Tickets for several upcoming holiday radio station concerts as well as tickets for the Major League Baseball playoffs are on sale throughout the weekend ending October 19 as compiled by TicketNews.

Kicking off the weekend’s onsales are tickets to catch the Canadian wing of Wilco’s North American tour. Among the cities the rock band will be visiting are Calgary and Edmonton. Tickets for this leg of the tour go on sale today, and should sell reasonably well. Also on sale today are tickets to the joint concert tour of country stars Martina McBride and Trace Adkins. The popular musicians will be performing in Milwaukee and St. Paul, MN. English rockers Arctic Monkeys have a concert in Boston among the Saturday onsales. While the band is still gaining popularity in the U.S., they are one of the hottest acts in England. Saturday’s onsales also include several upcoming concerts from former American Idol champ Kelly Clarkson. Continuing to tour in response to her successful 2009 album All I Ever Wanted, she has concerts on sale for several smaller markets, including Fresno and Corpus Christi.

The weekend onsales also include several upcoming sporting events. First up, the monster truck show Monster Jam has multiple dates on sale today. Among the cities with upcoming stops are Memphis, El Paso, and Raleigh. Also among the weekend onsales are tickets to WWE events. The continually popular wrestling television show will be performing in Tallahassee and Miami. On sale Saturday morning are tickets for the upcoming Ultimate Fighter 10 finale. The match will be held in Las Vegas and should be a popular ticket. Rounding out the weekend’s athletic events are tickets to the NLCS, ALCS, and upcoming World Series. While both divisional championship series are underway, tickets to the World Series could go on sale early next week.

Rounding out the onsales are tickets to various upcoming radio station sponsored holiday concerts. Starting off the list are tickets to the Z100 Jingle Ball. To be held in Madison Square Garden, the show will be headlined by teen superstar Taylor Swift. Denver’s 93.3 has tickets on sale today for their “Not So Silent Night” concert that will be headlined by rockers AFI. Saint Louis’ 105.7 has tickets among Saturday’s onsales for their Ho Ho Show, featuring Breaking Benjamin. Continuing the holiday concert round-up is Las Vegas’ Holiday Havoc ’09. With tickets on sale Saturday, the concert will feature Alice in Chains and Muse among other rock artists. Philadelphia’s Q102 Jingle Ball has tickets on sale Saturday as well. The concert looks to be a hot seller with artists including The Fray, Jordin Sparks, and Cobra Starship among the performers. Finally, Atlanta’s Jingle Jam also looks to be a hot seller on Saturday, boasting a similar line-up with the addition of British pop star Leona Lewis.
