Nickelback tour leads ‘Dark Horse’ back through North America

As this year draws to a close, Canadian rock band Nickelback is already busy planning a fresh slate of concert dates for the New Year. The band’s 2010 tour leg will launch with an April 6 show at the John Labatt Centre in London, ON, and continue through April 24 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK.

Eleven East Coast dates have been announced for the North American trek, but additional dates are forthcoming according to a statement on Nickelback’s official Web site. The current schedule includes performances on April 6 at Bell Centre in Montreal, QC; April 13 at Verizon Center in Washington, DC; and April 19 at Amway Arena in Orlando, FL.

The first public ticket sales for the tour leg begin December 4, following fan club presales that start on November 27. The venture includes supporting sets from Breaking Benjamin and Shinedown, as well as an opening act that is still to be announced.

Nickelback has already performed about 60 concerts across North America during the 2009 stretch of its trek. The Dark Horse Tour launched in February, with nearly 30 concerts booked across the U.S. and Canada through April. The group then completed a late summer tour extension, which added another 30 shows to the calendar from July through September.

The 2009 outing was Nickelback’s first under its new 360-degree deal with Live Nation. The agreement, worth between $50 million and $70 million, includes several touring and recording cycles.
