Stone Temple Pilots tour extends through fall with new U.S. concert dates
The summer tour for Stone Temple Pilots is just over a week away from its August 7 launch at Rock on the Range in Winnipeg, MB. But the hard rocking troupe headed by Scott Weiland is clearing out even more time on its calendar than the one month originally allotted for the tour.
The summer venture was initially booked through a September 5 show at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. But the addition of a fall leg now has the schedule reopening on September 16 at Vieja Arena in San Diego, CA, and ending October 16 at Santa Rosa Beach in Pensacola, FL.
Almost 20 new concert dates have been inked into the early fall months. The latest additions include gigs on September 19 at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, TX; September 25 at The Backyard in Austin, TX; and October 8 at St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, FL.
Ticket for select dates of the fall tour leg go on sale to the public July 30 and 31. Face values for those tickets vary widely from date to date, with prices starting as low as $27 in some markets and ranging as high as $100 in others, according to Ticketmaster.com‘s event listings.
STP’s entire North American tour now features a total of 38 dates from beginning to end. Since reuniting in 2008, the band has toured regularly, mounting an extensive reunion tour in 2008 and completing another batch of national shows in 2009.
