NKOTBSB tour adds more dates, Fenway Park concert
New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys have once again revised their summer tour plans. With the addition of five new concert dates, the NKOTBSB Tour will now open earlier and run longer than previously announced.
The original tour-opener — a June 2 concert at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT — now trails three newly added shows. The fresh launch-date is now May 26 at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI, followed by shows on May 28 at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, NY, and May 29 at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, MD.
The end-date has also been pushed back from the previous July 31 closer at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY, to make room for two new Canadian concerts in Ontario. Those gigs are slated for August 6 at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton and, finally, August 7 at the John Labatt Centre in London, ON.
Public ticket sales begin this Friday, February 11, with the exception of Buffalo, where onsales start February 12. As with earlier NKOTBSB concert dates, ticket prices are in the $30 to $90 range.
The HSBC Arena concert was previously scheduled for June 11. But it was just recently pushed forward in order to accommodate a special concert at Fenway Park in Boston, MA, set for the same day. Fenway ticket sales began February 5 on Etix.com, and only individual tickets are still available, based on the site’s ticket searches.
NKOTB and BSB first announced their 2011 tour plans with a brief five-date itinerary in early November last year. Nearly 20 more concerts were revealed later that same month after a joint NKOTB-BSB performance at the American Music Awards.
The itinerary has since grown to 47 concerts. Fan club ticket sell-outs were reported for several of the previously announced concerts. More information can be found on the official NKOTBSB Web site.
