Daytime host and TV icon Ellen DeGeneres announced today that she is returning to her comedy roots with a brief stand-up tour for the first time in 15 years.

DeGeneres, 60, will kick-off her 8-show run this August, visiting cities San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle. During her two stops at Benaroya Hall in Washington, she will film her debut Netflix special, which will premier later this year.

“I’ll keep you posted when and where I’m gonna shoot my Netflix special,” she said earlier this year on her show. “I’m excited to do it; I’m excited for you to see it. And now, each one of you, you get to Netflix & chill with me. How about that?”

She last held a comedy special in 2003, called Here and Now on HBO. The comedian has been hosting her daily talk-show since September of that year on NBC for 15 seasons. Fans are hoping that this 8-day tour will lead to a potential national trek.
