311, Dirty Heads To Co-Headline ‘The Sounds of Summer’ Tour
311 and Dirty Heads are joining forces this summer to bring good vibes and breezy tunes to amphitheaters across the country for “The Sounds of Summer” tour.
The 29-date trek is set to kick-off in Dayton, Ohio at The Rose Music Center on July 2, followed by shows in cities like Indianapolis, Hartford, Raleigh, Tampa, Dallas, and Sacramento. Salt Lake City, Utah will round-out the tour at USANA Amphitheatre late August. Throughout the run, they’ll be joined by special guest The Interrupters on select dates following the release of their hit single “She’s Kerosene” last year.
Since today is 311 Day (3/11), the group’s feature film Enlarged to Show Detail 3 will premiere in 240 cinemas across the country. Additionally, the band announced that their new album will be available this summer. The record will follow 2017’s MOSAIC, which featured singles “Too Much To Think,” “Perfect Mistake,” and “Too Late.” They are best-known for raggae-rock tunes like From Chaos‘ “Amber,” Transistor‘s “Beautiful Disaster,” and “All Mixed Up” off their 1995 self-titled LP.
Alt-rock/ska group Dirty Heads are also due to release new music this summer; a press release notes that they are in the studio with four-time Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb putting the “final touches” on their seventh studio album. In 2017, they dropped the record SWIM TEAM, known for “So Glad You Made It” featuring Nick Hexum, “Celebrate,” and “Visions.” The band previously took the No. 1 spot on Billboard‘s Alternative Albums chart with 2014’s Sound of Change, featuring the lead single “My Sweet Summer.” This year, they released the track “Listen To Me.”
