Iron Maiden Confirms Dynamic Pricing Will Not Be Used on Tour
The infamous ticketing practice known as Dynamic Pricing has stirred-up a lot of controversy among fans of all genres this year, but one band has made it clear that they won’t be using this method on tour.
Iron Maiden is heading out on a massive world tour next year, dubbed “Run For Your Lives.” Fans can expect to see the band perform hits from their first nine albums — from their 1980 self-titled debut through 1992’s Fear of the Dark. The tour will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the group’s first live performance back in 1975.
The band took to social media on Monday to reveal that they will not be using dynamic ticket pricing for the trek.

The practice of dynamic pricing is not new – though its use has been more rare abroad than in the United States. It is a system where event organizers and artists allow Ticketmaster or other primary sales partners to sharply increase prices during moments of peak demand, such as presales or the initial phase of general sales. While its supporters argue that such practices discourage “scalping” by making it harder for people to turn a profit by reselling tickets, it has drawn extreme backlash from fans, who often feel ripped off by the very bands they are trying to see.
Recently, officials in the United Kingdom have said they will take a hard look at the practice following widespread complaints during the Oasis reunion tour. During the initial sale, consumers fumed after “in demand” prices surged to several hundred pounds higher than the advertised amount.
Complaints from fans across all genres have made headlines over the past year — from Green Day and Sleep Token to Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo.
