Coldplay, Taylor Swift Set Ticket Records in 2024

British rock band Coldplay and Taylor Swift have reached historic milestones in the live entertainment industry. Coldplay now holds the record for the most tickets sold on a single tour, while Swift’s Eras Tour shattered revenue records.

Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour has sold 10.3 million tickets—the highest total ever achieved by any artist on a single tour. The record-breaking run, which began in March 2022, is slated to continue through September 2025 with 48 shows still on the horizon. The tour’s success has also translated to massive earnings, grossing over $1.3 billion to date.

Meanwhile, Swift’s Eras Tour has rewritten the rulebook for solo touring artists. Swift sold 5.2 million tickets across 80 shows in 2024 alone, with Pollstar reporting $1.04 billion in earnings for the year.

Swift’s tour, spanning 149 shows across five continents over nearly two years, now stands as the highest-grossing tour of all time. Cumulatively, the Eras Tour has racked up $2.2 billion in gross revenue and sold over 10.1 million tickets worldwide.

Notably, according to Pollstar’s Top 200 Worldwide Top Touring Artists, Pink, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, The Rolling Stones, Bad Bunny, Zach Bryan, Metallica, Luis Miguel, and Madonna also earned top spots, contributing to what Pollstar has described as a record-breaking year for live events.
