Jay-Z Accused of Sexually Assaulting 13-Year-Old in Lawsuit Alongside Diddy
Jay-Z has been named in a refined lawsuit, which alleges he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs, NBC News reported.
The lawsuit was originally filed in October in the Southern District of New York by an anonymous accuser identified as “Jane Doe,” listing Combs as a defendant. The suit claimed that in 2000, Doe was drugged and raped by Combs alongside another “male celebrity.” On Sunday, the suit was refiled to name Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter as the second individual who allegedly sexually assaulted her.
She is suing both Combs and Jay-Z for compensatory damages for physical injuries, emotional distress, punitive damages, attorneys’ fees, and more.
According to the suit, Doe claimed that she was dropped-off at New York’s Radio City Music Hall to try to attend the MTV Video Music Awards around September 7, 2000 at 13-years-old. She attempted to get into an afterparty by approaching limousine drivers and ended up talking to one who claimed he worked for Diddy. She claimed in the lawsuit the driver said Diddy “liked younger girls” and she would match “what Diddy was looking for.”
Doe then claimed the driver brought her to a house filled with celebrities, and while two men asked her to sign what she thought to be a nondisclosure agreement, she never received a copy of the document.
At the party, Doe alleged she accepted a drink from waitstaff and felt woozy so she laid down in an empty bedroom. Then, she claimed Combs entered the room with Carter and another female celebrity. She originally claimed in the first lawsuit that Diddy “threw” her against a wall and then onto the bed. In the refiled suit, she alleges Jay-Z removed her clothes, held her down, and raped her. Diddy allegedly followed and raped her while others watched.
After the alleged assault, Doe claims Diddy attempted to force her to perform oral sex, but she refused, hit him in the neck, grabbed her clothes, and ran out of the bedroom to leave. She claimed that once outside and dressed, she walked to a gas station and called her father for help.

Jay-Z’s management company Roc Nation posted a statement on X, calling the allegations “so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one.”
“Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?” the statement reads. “My heart and support goes out to the true victims in the world who have to watch how their life story is dressed in costume for profitability by this ambulance chaser in a cheap suit.”
The statement also called-out Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing Doe.
“I have no idea how you have come to be such a deplorable human Mr. Buzbee, but I promise you I have seen your kind many times over,” Roc Nation continued. “I’m more than prepared to deal with your type. You claim to be a marine?! Marines are known for their valor, you have neither honor nor dignity.”

Buzbee has since responded to the statement, noting that his firm sent Jay-Z’s lawyer a demand letter on behalf of an alleged victim, who “never demanded a penny from him,” but instead, sought a confidential mediation. He said “Mr. Carter has not only sued me, but he has tried to bully and harass me and this plaintiff,” which has “had the opposite impact,” as “she is emboldened.”
“As far as the allegations in the complaint filed, we will let the filing speak for itself and will litigate the facts in court, not in the media,” Buzbee said.

While Diddy’s lawyers have previously denied any wrongdoing, they released a statement noting that Buzbee’s lawsuits are “shameless publicity stunts.”
“As he legal team has said before, Mr. Combs has full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process,” Diddy’s lawyers said. “In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone — man or woman, adult or minor.”
Currently, Diddy is facing federal charges for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution, for which he has pled not guilty. A trial date is set for May 5, 2025.
Diddy also faces numerous lawsuits for alleged abuse; in February, Combs was accused of sexual assault, harassment, and sex trafficking by a music producer, followed by a suit by “Jane Doe” who claimed the rapper “sex trafficked and gang raped” her as a minor.

Buzbee also revealed that he is representing 120 accusers, with allegations against Diddy stemming from the past two decades. Buzbee said that he plans to “expose the enablers who enabled this conduct behind closed doors” and his team has collected pictures, videos, and texts that showcase allegations including “violent sexual assault or rape, facilitated sex with a controlled substance, dissemination of video recordings” and “sexual abuse of minors.”
The allegations stem from accusers across 25 states, though the majority are from New York, California, Georgia, and Florida. According to Buzbee, 25 of the accusers said they were minors at the time of the alleged incidents, and one of the allegations stems back to 1991. Additionally, one of the accusers claims they were 9-years-old at the time of the alleged act.
Buzbee also publicized a hotline earlier this week for victims of Combs. Since the first 10 days of going live, the hotline received around 3,200 calls, and following the press conference, 12,000 calls were received within just 24 hours. In a statement to Law & Crime, Buzbee said his team has around 100 people working to sift through each call and identify victims, witnesses, and evidence.
Combs’ lawyers have denied all the allegations against him, aside from the incident involving his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura — which he confessed to after an older surveillance video resurfaced online, showing him attacking her in a hotel hallway.
Combs’ case marks the most high-profile case with criminal charges against a public figure in the music scene since R. Kelly. The disgraced R&B singer was sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for child sex crimes, sex trafficking, and racketeering following a widespread #MuteRKelly movement, which brought years-worth of allegations to light.
