Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to Make Broadway Debut in ‘& Juliet’
The United States Supreme Court justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is set to make a one-night appearance on the Broadway stage.
Jackson will make her Broadway debut in a walk-on role during the 8 p.m. performance of Tony Award-nominated musical “& Juliet” at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Saturday, December 14. After the show, audience members are invited to stay at the theater for a talkback with the justice.
Jackson became the first Black female Supreme Court justice when she took her seat in June 2022, following an appointment by President Joe Biden. Her appearance during “& Juliet” will mark the first time a Black female Supreme Court Justice appears on a Broadway stage.

The jukebox musical follows the story of William Shakespeare’s classic — but with a twist — posing the question: What would happen if Juliet didn’t end her life over Romeo? Theatregoers can expect to sing along to hits like “Since U Been Gone,” “Roar,” “I Want It That Way,” and Confident.”
