Lynyrd Skynyrd Announces 50th Anniversary Tour
Lynyrd Skynyrd is set to celebrate half a century in music with an expansive trek across North America, Europe and the U.K. Although the legendary band performed co-headlining runs with ZZ Top in 2023 and 2024, the upcoming “Celebrating 50 Years of Lynyrd Skynyrd Tour” will mark their first U.K. shows since 2019.
The journey will kick-off on February 6 at Seminole Brighton Casino in Okeechobee, Florida before visiting cities like Livingston, LA; Georgetown, TX; Knoxville, TN; Atlantic City, NJ; and more until their final destination stateside on June 20 at Summer Jam in Eau Claire, WI.
June and July will see the band perform across Europe in Barcelona, Prag, Paris, Berlin, and more, along with the newly-added U.K. arena shows like AO Arena in Manchester, Utilita Arena Birmingham in Birmingham, The Brighton Centre in Brighton, and OVO Arena Wembley in London. The U.K. shows will take place from July 15 through 19, respectively.
Blackberry Smoke will join the band as special guests on all four U.K. dates.
“This UK tour promises to be a celebration of Skynyrd’s rich heritage and enduring appeal,” promoter AEG Presents shared. “Fans can expect an unforgettable evening filled with classic hits, powerful performances, and a shared passion for the music that has defined a lifestyle for millions.”
After wrapping the tour’s summer leg in the old continent, Lynyrd Skynyrd will cross Canada, appearing in Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Niagara Falls, and more from September 10 through October 4.
Lynyrd Skynyrd celebrated the 50th anniversary of their debut album, Pronounced ‘Lĕh-‘nérd ‘Skin-‘nérd, in 2023. They’re known for popularizing the southern rock genre with songs such as “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Free Bird,” as well as hits like “Simple Man,” “That Smell,” and “Gimme Three Steps.”
Lynyrd Skynyrd was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. As of 2023, the band has sold more than 28 million records in the United States.
The band’s current lineup features Johnny Van Zant, Rickey Medlocke, Mark “Sparky” Matejka, Michael Cartellone, Keith Christopher, Peter Keys, Carol Chase and Stacy Michelle. Following guitarist Gary Rossington’s death in March 2023, all of the original band members are now deceased.
