Post Malone Is This Year’s Record Store Day Ambassador
Record stores are nostalgic, hidden gems across the country, keeping the spirit of vinyl alive. Each April, fans, artists, and independent record stores come together to celebrate Record Store Day.
This year, genre-bending superstar Post Malone has been named the Record Store Day Ambassador. RSD will commence on April 12.
Malone noted in a statement that he was honored to be chosen, writing in a statement, “Record Store Day is so important, and I really hope to do my part to keep it alive.” He said that while on the road touring, his team stops to hit up local shops and “seeing all the crazy artwork, the whole energy in a record store is just super inspiring.”
“It’s really an unexplainable feeling to hit up a shop and dig through crates, just see what grabs your eye,” Malone said. “You can be looking for something super specific and end up finding something totally different. It’s the best. Keep supporting y’all and let’s keep records and these local shops going strong.”

RSD, first celebrated in 2007, is headquartered in the U.S., but organizers operate across the world, including Canada, the UK, Ireland, Mexico, and across Europe. Malone will follow the 2024 U.S. ambassadors of Paramore, as well as UK’s Kate Bush. Other past ambassadors include Taylor Swift, The 1975, Elton John, Metallica, Pearl Jam, and Ozzy Osbourne.
This year, Post Malone is heading out on the “Big Ass Stadium Tour” with Jelly Roll, kicking-off in April and running through July. He’s also slated to headline this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
While Post Malone began his career in the hip-hop industry, garnering attention with “Congratulations” with Quavo, “Rockstar” with 21 Savage, “Better Now,” and “Sunflower” with Swae Lee,” he released his debut country album F-1 Trillion in 2024, landing at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
The album, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Country Album, included the singles “I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen, “Pour Me a Drink” with Blake Shelton, and “Guy For That” with Luke Combs. The record also includes songs from his support on the tour — “Losers” featuring Jelly Roll and “Never Love You Again” featuring Ferrell.
