Madonna, MLB tickets on sale throughout the weekend
With Spring Training already underway, tickets for some of Major League Baseball’s top teams 2012 schedules are among the onsales for the weekend ending March 5 as compiled by TicketNews.
Starting off the onsales are tickets to the upcoming home season for the reigning World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals. The team enters the season having lost their longtime slugger and huge fan draw Albert Pujols to free agency this winter, but they still have one of the most loyal fan bases in the league.
Also on sale this weekend are tickets to the 2012 season for the Cardinals’ World Series opponent, the Texas Rangers. The Rangers have managed to keep most of the roster from last year’s team intact, while adding Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish which should help with ticket sales.
Continuing the baseball onsales are tickets to the upcoming Washington Nationals season. Now in possession of two of the most sought after young players in Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper, many believe that the Nationals have the makings of a championship team of the future.
Rounding out the weekend’s baseball onsales are tickets to the Los Angeles Dodgers 2012 season. Coming off a 2011 that saw the Dodgers in the press more for the woes of their former owner than for the strength of their baseball team, this season’s Dodgers will seek to improve on their middle of the pack finish in the always competitive National League West Division.
This weekend also has plenty of concert onsales as well, highlighted by tickets to several upcoming concerts from Madonna. The world’s top selling female artist of all time, having sold over 300 million copies worldwide of her many albums, Madonna has concerts in Atlanta, New Orleans, St. Louis, and Kansas City on sale Monday. Madonna’s tour will celebrate the release of her latest album and marks her first tour in three years.
Tickets are also on sale this weekend for upcoming concert dates from Lady Antebellum. One of today’s most popular cross-over artists, Lady Antebellum has managed to successfully transition from country to the pop charts. Concerts in Cincinnati and Camden, NJ are on sale today.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
