Kenny Chesney tour still ‘Goin’ Coastal’ with new concert dates

The full schedule is now out for Kenny Chesney’s upcoming Goin’ Coastal Tour. A total of 41 dates have been added to the country musician’s itinerary, which also features 10 previously announced stadium concerts.

Chesney’s entire 51-date calendar opens with a March 17 performance at Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL, and continues through an August 27 gig at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. Besides stadiums, the singer-songwriter will visit amphitheaters and arenas across the United States and Canada.

Some of the newest U.S. shows are booked on April 8-9 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT; April 29 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA; May 20 at the Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta, GA; July 6 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO; and August 13 at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

North of the border, audiences can catch Chesney on July 13 at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, MB; July 16 at Rexall Place in Edmonton, AB; July 17 at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, AB; July 20 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC; and August 18 at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto, ON.

Ticket onsale dates and prices vary widely for the tour. Select concert dates are already on sale to the general public with tickets priced as low as $25 or as high as $250, depending on the market. Other cities on the tour are still awaiting onsale and pricing information. Regularly updated details can be found on Chesney’s official Web site.

Chesney will receive support on all dates of the tour from Billy Currington and Uncle Kracker. Zac Brown Band will also appear as a special guest during the previously announced stadium shows.

Though long perceived as a stalwart summer touring act, Chesney put his annual roadshow on hold last year. The year-long hiatus could play some part in ticket buyers’ eagerness to catch the songman this year.

Already there has been some ticketing controversy. During November 2010 onsales for one of the upcoming stadium concerts, tickets with a face value of $99.50 sold for just $25 on Ticketmaster.com. After catching the pricing error, the ticketing giant gave buyers the option of receiving a refund or paying the difference on their tickets. Later onsales for Chesney’s stadium concerts were without incident.
