Avenged Sevenfold tour reclaims road with Buckcherry, new solo shows
After cancelling the latter half of their fall tour when lead singer M. Shadows was diagnosed with vocal fatigue, metalcore band Avenged Sevenfold is back in a big way. The hard rock crew is cushioning its 2008 itinerary with a newly expanded co-headlining bill with Buckcherry and a series of solo shows that take the band through the end of the year.
The rockers will perform a November 2 solo show at the Tyson IBP Events Center in Sioux City, IA, before kicking off their latest run with Buckcherry on November 4 at Casper Events Center in Casper, WY. The 20-city co-headlining jaunt continues (with scattered solo dates) through a December 3 concert at James Brown Arena in Augusta, GA, after which Avenged Sevenfold continues on its own for eight more shows through December 17 at the Sound Academy in Toronto, ON.
Highlights for the solo run include a December 9-10 run at Ram’s Head Live in Baltimore, MD, as well as a December 15 show at Pavillon de la Jeunesse and a December 16 performance at Metropolis in Montreal, QC. All the Canadian shows are booked for the same cities and venues as the original dates for Avenged Sevenfold’s cancelled fall tour.
The hardcore quintet was originally scheduled to complete a co-headlining run with Buckcherry in September and October. However, after Shadows’s illness, the band was forced to back out of the dates, though Buckcherry completed the tour as scheduled with supporting acts Saving Abel and Shinedown. Both opening bands will also appear for the extended November-December jaunt of the United States.
Avenged Sevenfold is touring behind its September 16 live CD/DVD release “Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough.” The album is a follow-up to the band’s eponymous 2007 record, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and was RIAA-certified Gold.
Buckcherry is supporting their fourth studio album “Black Butterfly,” which was also released on September 16 in the U.S. A follow-up to 2006’s “15,” the record peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and No. 3 on the rock album charts.
