Cheech & Chong tour continues to Light Up America through spring

Iconic comedy duo Cheech & Chong will keep the laughs coming through spring with a fresh round of weekend performances. The Light Up America tour will extend into 2009 with performances from January 15 at Inn of the Mountain Gods in Mescalero, NM, through April 5 at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, FL.

Richard “Cheech” Marin and Tommy Chong have more than 30 stand-up performances booked from coast to coast across North America. Highlights include a January 18 gig at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO, a January 31 show at Radio City Music Hall in New York, NY, a February 20 routine at Northern Lights Theater in Milwaukee, WI, a March 14 set at Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, TX, and an April 4 show at Florida Theatre in Jacksonville, FL.

The North American run also includes a four-date stint north of the border. The Canadian engagements start and end at the Francis Winspear Centre for Music in Edmonton, AB, with shows on February 12 and February 15. Other stops are booked for February 13 at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary, AB, and February 14 at Pantages Playhouse Theatre in Winnipeg, MB.

Cheech & Chong began their partnership in the early 1970s, and released nine albums together through 1985’s “Get Out of My Room.” Eventually splitting in the ’80s due to “creative differences,” Chong and Marin focused on different careers in entertainment. Chong continued with a solo comedy career and Marin focused on films and television.
