Lilith Fair unveils more tour dates, tickets onsales for 2010 season

Sarah McLachlan’s rejuvenated Lilith Fair has rolled out another eight dates for its 2010 season, bringing the total to 16 confirmed tour stops so far.

Returning after a decade off the road, this year’s Lilith festivities are expected to hit 36 North American cities in all. Some of the most recently announced tour markets include June 27 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, AB; July 7 at Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, CA; and July 23 at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, QC.

Public onsales for the latest round of confirmed performances begin April 3, via tour producer Live Nation’s ticketing outlets.

The June 27 performance in Calgary will be the first date of the 2010 Lilith Tour. At this point, the calendar closes with a previously announced August 10 event at Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL.

About 80 performers have been announced for the Fair’s 2010 lineup, with more additions expected over the coming weeks and months. In keeping with previous seasons, the tour’s featured acts are either female solo artists or female-led bands.

While the Lilith Fair has always featured its fair share of acoustic and folk singer-songwriters, like returning performers Sheryl Crow and the Indigo Girls, the billing is also strikingly eclectic. The 2010 lineup pulls from genres such as country (Emmylou Harris and Sugarland), R&B (Erykah Badu and Mary J. Blige), dance (Ke$ha and The Gossip), and even a touch of Disney pop (Selena Gomez).

Featured performers and artists will change from date to date on the tour. Details about each market’s scheduled lineup and ticket onsales are available on the official Lilith Fair Web site.

The latest round of tour date, onsale and artist announcements follows the initial Lilith Fair announcement by little more than a week. The next batch of confirmations are expected to follow shortly hereafter.
