Limp Bizkit tour announces summer dates in Europe

The first of Limp Bizkit‘s reunion plans are coming together as the nu metal band prepares to launch a 25-city tour of Europe. The seven-week jaunt passes through some of the continent’s summer festivals and hits several concert venues for headline performances.

The Unicorns N’ Rainbows Tour kicks off May 20 at Arena Riga in Riga, Latvia, and concludes July 5 at Zenith in Paris, France. Highlights include performances on May 25 at Ice Hall in Helsinki, Finland; June 5 at Rock Im Park Festival in Nuremburg, Germany; June 12 at Download Festival in Derby, England; and June 18 at the O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic.

In early February, Limp Bizkit confirmed that all original group members would reunite after an eight-year hiatus. “We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other,” frontman Fred Durst and guitarist Wes Borland explained in a joint statement on the band’s Web site. “Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else.”

In addition to Durst and Borland, the original line-up will be complete with Sam Rivers back on bass, John Otto on drums and DJ Lethal reclaiming his earlier turntable and sampling duties.

After completing the spring and summer tour dates, the original group also plans to produce its first full-length effort since 2000’s “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.” An estimated release date for the new record has not been announced.

Limp Bizkit released one full-length disc “Results May Vary” in 2003, but it did not feature Borland, who had left the group due to creative differences with Durst. Borland temporarily returned to the group to work on the 2005 EP “The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1),” but left when differences arose again.
