Roger Waters tour adds to ‘The Wall’ with a dozen new concert dates

Iconic musician Roger Waters has a dozen new dates on the books for The Wall Live Tour, launching in North America this fall. The extended itinerary, which includes second and third nights in select markets, was announced on May 10 as initial public onsales opened across the nation.

Waters’ calendar now features 48 performance dates, beginning with an expanded three-night run on September 15, 16 and 18 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON. The North American leg of the tour ends with another newly extended stand on December 13 and14 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.

Second and third concerts are also on the books in Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Uniondale, NY; Montreal, QC; East Rutherford, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Sunrise, FL; Los Angeles, CA; and San Jose, CA. Public onsales for most new concert dates started on May 10 shortly after they were announced. A May 14 onsale is scheduled for the third show at Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, and the next round of sales begins May 17 in Chicago, Los Angeles and Anaheim.

In early May, Waters first announced his plans to stage a 30th anniversary tour for Pink Floyd’s classic album “The Wall”. The upcoming venture will feature cover-to-cover performances of the album, accompanied by a revamped multimedia staging.

Tour presales began last week, with access to the sales decided by lottery. Individuals selected in the lottery could order a maximum of two “non-transferable, non-reusable” tickets during the presale.

Each market’s presale ticket options were divided into two price tiers, with each tier covering multiple floor and lower level seating sections. While buyers are assured seats within their selected presale price tier, exact seat locations will only be revealed when the ducats are distributed at Will Call on the night of the show. (The public sales allow various ticket delivery options and reveal the exact seat location.)

Despite these ticketing restrictions, there was still ample demand for tickets, according to e-mail tour announcements sent over the past week. For example, Waters’ team sent a notification on May 8 that New York City presales had sold-out and were therefore closed, but hinted, “Should a second performance in New York City, NY, be announced, we will let you know.”
